This is Hokkaido Cake. It’s soft, spongy, taste of vanilla with white fluffy cream inside.
I couldn’t resist!
I want more!!!!!
Even my dog cannot resist.
This Saturday, today, it is hot day. Traffic jam. Road blocks. It’s because the Bersih 3.0 Rally is happening in the city. I shall not speak about it. Politics. Not my interest. There’s enough people talking about it already anyways. So, I’m going into a “Sewing Retreat” by myself in my lovely home. Enjoying the bliss of staying home.
Happy weekend! Yay!
Animals are amazingly creative!
At least to me Scout is.
He use the bathroom rug and his big huge cow pillow to make a bed for himself.
Close up shot.
A friend called up today to ask if I can make her 3 kids each one of this bag.
The good thing is, she will provide the fabric! But I have to wait, because she just bought them from etsy, and is waiting for them to arrive at her door *fingers cross* in two weeks time!
I adore these lunch bags. They take time to make, because much measuring and cutting is needed. However, ones the cutting is done the sewing is easy peasy!
Say HELLO to Scout my handsome Labrador.
It is his habit every night that he waits for me on that exact spot to “go to his room” upstairs for the night. And being a dog, he is conditioned to do so at precisely the same time each night. The problem… I don’t go to bed the same time every night So, he conditioned himself to wait for me there should I choose to go to bed later than 10pm.
And most of the time, he will be snoring away on the stairway!
So a week ago, I introduced Scout to Mr Hippo! (yes with the exclaimation mark).
Scout has this “security blanket” conditioning, whereby he needs to have his “ball” (a toy) in his mouth when he gets excited. Everytime anyone of us returns home, he has to go grab his ball and come greet us. He will search and search the whole house upside down inside out until he finds his any one of his toys.
So, Scout has his favourite toy aka Patrick the red doggy. But poor Patrick has been mauled, chewed on, torn and peed on, left in the garden… and he is just a mess. I decided it’s time Scout has a new Patrick kinda toy. So here comes Mr Hippo!
The introduction was easy. Scout pretending to be oblivious and then slowly but firmly he took Mr Hippo! in his big big mouth.
Then, almost immediately they bonded!
Here in this photo below, you can see Scout enjoying the bright sunny day in our porch, with Mr Hippo! sleeping on his chest. Can you spot Mr Hippo! ?
Also, if you look closely… there’s a small pillow by the pot. That’s one Scout’s “ball”.
Happy day to you all. I’m thinking of something crafty to post soon…soon soon..soon… ^_^
Hello friends! How are you all?
It’s been 6 months since I last posted. I’m glad to be back online. Well, it’s not that I’ve been away from the internet, but just took an extended break from blogging and sewing and crafting.
I’ve been crazy busy though. Life did not stop. In fact from mid 2011 onwards life has become much more chaotic in a good way.
There was my trips to Spain, Holland and Germany… then there was Christmas, New Year and then Chinese New Year. Now, finally things are starting to move back to its normal pace. Lent is coming, and soon Easter will be around the corner.
Oh well, my aspiration for 2012, is that firstly, I want to blog more, to fill this website with more topics other than just crafting. Of course this will still mainly be my crafting blog ^^. Then I want to cook more, eat less, and do more community work. Ok. I know it’s a very not S.M.A.R.T. goal. But hey, hobbies are meant to be silly and fun! As long as there is motivation and things get moving the right direction, everything’s A-OK !
Ok, the first change I made to this blog is that I created a Facebook page for Whimsy Loft Handmades (see it’s at the right hand corner over there —>>> ). Please please “LIKE” Whimsy Loft yes?
Wish you all a merry happy week ahead, and I will be back tomorrow!
