What I Made Last Night…Posted on February 18th, 2010 @ 11:56 am
I am on a sewing hiatus. Only 2 days left for my Chinese New Year holiday. So not looking forward to going to work.
These are what I made last night… see I get more productive when the heat is down. Yesterday (and today, thank goodness…) was so much cooler than the days before. The sun has decided to lessen her wrath and have mercy on beings like me… haha!
Two hankerchief for babies. I embellish a tiger (because this year is the year of the Tiger). And the tail is made of cotton string which I covered with embroidery thread, and made a loop at the edge so it can be a hanger.

One more owl. This time using grey socks. My dad’s socks hehe… isn’t he cute? He is very small, only palm size. I use 1/3 of the socks. I have a Tutorial HERE is you want to make one too !

I made 2, one for my sister, and one for myself. Below is for my sister. It is reversible!

Enjoy your day
I’m going to Bangi (an hour drive away) with my sister to send in her university application now. See ya!
Update 19 Feb:: Oh… one final thing… thanks to Kim from Everything Etsy, I am participating in a BLOG PARTY. Click on the icon below to check out other participant’s creation too! They are superb

A while ago, I made some felt softie.
Today, I’m going to share it with you…

They come in pairs, so it’s great as a Valentine gift.
Coincidently this year, Chinese New Year falls on Valentine’s Day. Yippie! We get “extra” celebration… I haven’t even done my Chinese New Year shopping. Lots of drinks and beer and titbits to buy. Didn’t even order any new year cookies (looks like I have to either make my own, or buy factory processed…). Lots of “sengkuang” to buy to make the traditional Hokkien “Jiu Hu Char”… and I haven’t even started shopping! OMGoodness!!!
Rambo Giraffe looks very rainbow-ish … I just love his colour. Notice he has no eyes…
That’s because I ran out of glue… Otherwise he would have 2 large oggling eyes… now he is as blind as a bat, but not for long
. Maybe I should just embroidery his eyes, it’s safer for kids that way.

Another of my sock-cutting endeavour brought this little monster to life.

Wait for my tutorial ok
.
I’m happy to share my way of making sock softie… I just cannot decide which one to write a tutorial for ???
P/S: Thank you everyone who has drop by my blog. And I especially appreciate your comments.
Thanks to you who joined my OWOH giveaway. I’m trying to visit all your OWOH too… 800++ and counting… I really am trying to catch up reading blogs, I want to visit all … yayaya…

TUTORIALS
Oh! Charmaine…Posted on January 12th, 2010 @ 12:01 pm
Here’s the little doll I whipped up for my cousin’s little girl.
I made this after reading half a dozen of doll tutorials. And finally settled for drawing and cutting out my own pattern. I guess it’s sorta original but I admit I borrow heavily from Martha Steward Black Apple Doll (although I didn’t touch the free pattern they provided).

Dolly Charmaine’s face and hair are made of felt & embroidery. The hands, legs and dress/body are made of calico and cotton. Insides… non-allergic polyfill
.
I just had to embroider my initial “G” on Dolly’s palm. And on her chest, is the baby girl’s name “Charmaine”.

Sticker-TapePosted on November 30th, 2009 @ 2:32 pm
Kawaii!
I love sticker tapes.

They can be used for just about anything. As deco tape, for scrapbookings, as a seal to gift wrappings, seal to envelopes, etc.
This is a self-made sticker tape. I used kawaii printed papers, make strips and turn them into stickers!

Available in my Etsy store , or just click here for direct linking.

Christmas OrnamentsPosted on November 18th, 2009 @ 3:10 pm
Christmas is just around the corner.

I’ve been busy making some Christmas-sy stuff… and this is just one of them. I want to give them away as free gifts and also keep a few for my Christmas tree. I have a very small tree at home, so she don’t need much ornaments.

I handcarved the Snowflake and chopped it on white cotton using Fabric Ink. These days I’m starting to enjoy rubber carving

Needlebook, A Visitor & Some LeatherPosted on October 1st, 2009 @ 1:02 pm
It was a wonderful morning. I listed one new product in Etsy, and updated my shop in ArtFire.
I know I haven’t mentioned anything about my ArtFire shop… mainly because I hardly list items there. But I do sometimes
. The products are the same as in my Etsy.
We had a visitor today. He came 3 times today to visit my dogs. How I know it’s a “he” is because he did his “manly leg-up” thing on my car tyres!

This is my new needlebook.
I call it the House With No Roof Needlebook!

Oh, I also like to share with you this…

LEATHER!
My Father gave me these 2 days ago. They have been sitting in our store room for ages… Dad wants me to make him a PDA cover (and i did!) with these. I will post photos of the handsewn PDA cover soon.
Have a great day… I am looking forward to my dinner date this evening. We are having Korean

Dog Bone CasePosted on September 23rd, 2009 @ 6:21 pm
You know how much I love my Labrador… and his favourite treat is a BONE.
So, I made these Bone Shaped Cases.

The zipper is 6″ long, hence the case is long enough to be used as a pencil box, or make-up case. Yes, all my long eye liners, mascara and brushes can fit into this “big bone”.
I embellished the zipper with a key chain with abead and a ”kissing couple” charm.

This case is just so full of doggie love

Hearts to You!Posted on September 4th, 2009 @ 7:41 am
Been to the doctor and back. Had this numbness in my left arm… panicked so I rushed to the GP… but it was nothing… just too much computer work… Doc did some test and said it should heal in a few days. Pheewww…
But that didn’t stop me from sewing
.

Some HEARTS for my customers
(hopefully I will get more customers soon…)

And I have more…
See that fluffy pillow thing at the back of the Hearts?
They are my new Pillow Pincushions!!!

Huge… larger than palm size.

Last but not least… I bought these kitchen towels in Giant yesterday. I have a great idea on what to do with them… but at the moment it’s WIP… when it’s done I’ll make another post

Miss Smiley Key HolderPosted on August 23rd, 2009 @ 3:51 pm
So cute!

Felted plushie key holder… in the shape of a key
.
I love the mixture of bright coloured felt. The plushie is 4.5 inch in length. Miss Smiley has blushing cheeks, accentuated using tiny brads
.
